Margaret Loesch

argaret A. Loesch is the co-founder and former CEO of The Hatchery LLC, a family entertainment company launched in 2003 with partner and former Co-CEO Bruce Stein, and investor/partners Peter Guber and Paul Schaeffer. Ms. Loesch transitioned from The Hatchery to the recently formed Hasbro/Discovery joint-venture The Hub TV Network as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Margaret remains an integral part of the company serving as an active board member.

During the formation of The Hatchery in 2003, Ms. Loesch produced and later distributed an independent motion picture, “Benji Off the Leash”, with Benji’s creator/writer/director, Joe Camp.

From September 1998 until October of 2001, Ms. Loesch was the first President and Chief Executive Officer of Crown Media United States and its U.S. Hallmark Channel, and President and CEO of its predecessor, the Odyssey Channel, which she restructured, re-programmed and subsequently rebuilt, repositioning it as the U.S. Hallmark Channel.

Previously, she was President of the Jim Henson Television Group, Worldwide. It was while with Henson that Ms. Loesch played a key role in the 1998 acquisition of Odyssey, a cable channel acquired by Henson with partner Hallmark Entertainment. At the request of the new partners, Ms. Loesch took over the helm of Odyssey as its President and CEO and successfully re-positioned the channel for broader audiences, improved the programming lineup and strengthened primetime ratings. She built a new company-wide infrastructure and established an enduring foundation for Odyssey’s successor, the Hallmark Channel, which she launched in 2001, replacing Odyssey.

From 1990 to November 1997, Ms. Loesch was founding President and CEO, as well as the key architect of FOX Kids Networks, Worldwide. Literally, she re-shaped the landscape of children’s television with a creative strategy that merged diversified, quality programming with innovative and aggressive marketing. She successfully expanded the Fox Kids service into Latin America, Australia, and the U.K. Ms. Loesch resigned as Vice-Chairman in late 1997.

From 1984 to 1990, Ms. Loesch was President and CEO of Marvel Productions. During her tenure she enjoyed a six-year creative collaboration with Marvel comic’s prolific Stan Lee, as well as the legendary Jim Henson.

Previously, from 1979 to 1984, Ms. Loesch was Executive Vice-President of Hanna-Barbera Productions where she creatively supervised a staff of over three-dozen writers and producers, as well as the development and launch of over five-hundred half hours of network television series and specials.

From 1975 to 1979 she was with NBC TV Network as its Director of Children’s Programs, and from 1971 to 1975 she was with ABC TV Network.

Among her awards, Ms. Loesch is a four-time Emmy Award winner, a George Foster Peabody Award winner, and recipient of the prestigious Chair Award from the Caucus for Television Producers, Writers, and Directors.

She serves on the Board of Trustees of Sesame Workshop, producers of award winning educational series, including the much beloved Sesame Street.
